WELCOME TO SAMAIN – THE DAWN OF MILAN

Comes back again, marked by the ancient Celtic calendar, in the magical days of meeting between the worlds, when the time generates the new year: “Samain”.

It comes back, and once again Milan is ready to celebrate it in a whirlwind of music, dance, influence and flavours, along three days of shows and historical reenactments at Capodanno Celtico.

The manifestation, came by now to its tenth edition and rightfully entered the circuit of the biggest European Celtic festivals, drives in the timeless circle of the Castle an increasingly numerous public – 100,000 presences in 2008 edition – into an exciting journey between ancient camps, unbridled dances, inflamed battles, enchanting harp whispers, artisans, and the most convincing voices of celtic and folk, national and international outlook, discovering an heritage which is an important part that Milan and Lombardia’s cultural identity cannot renounce.

With the purpose and the hope that the new generations will find theirselves in the uniqueness and richness of this cultural heritage, the program includes, in the space of his duration, special initiatives for the school and the children.
